Year 11
As you move into these senior years, you will choose more specialised subjects to help prepare you for the particular directions you will pursue beyond school. You will need to choose a balanced program. The subjects described here are offered by the College to ensure that balance is possible.
Although there are some compulsory subjects to be studied across these two years, there are many choices, choices which may help to lead you into the career, or higher education pathway that interests you.

Year 12
The nature of senior schooling is undergoing rapid change. Retention rates at Year 11 & 12 have increased to such an extent that schools can no longer offer a purely academic or vocational program. Schools must engage senior students in a variety of pathways that include the VCE, VCE-VM, VCAL, VETiS and New Apprenticeships.
Mary MacKillop Catholic Regional College has responded to these challenges.
Specifically we have:
- Provided a team of teachers and coordinators to assist students in choosing a course of study which meets their individual needs. This team includes the Senior School Co-ordinator and Careers Advisor, as well as subject teachers.
- Formed partnerships with Central Gippsland Institute of TAFE, McMillan and V.C.A.H to offer TAFE/VET courses across a range of areas.
- Provided pathways in New Apprenticeships involving a combination of schooling, TAFE and employment.
