Please see below from our Sports Coordinator, Trav Please see below from our Sports Coordinator, Travis Newton: ๐Ÿ… Welcome to 2025 Sports at Mary MacKillop Catholic Regional College! ๐Ÿ… Hello! Iโ€™m Travis Newton, the Sports Coordinator at Mary MacKillop Catholic Regional College. I want to extend a warm welcome to all new families joining our community and a heartfelt welcome back to our returning families. I hope you all had a relaxing holiday break! Last year was a huge success for us in sports! ๐Ÿ† We proudly received the 2024 Don Hislop Award, recognizing us as the school in South Gippsland with the highest overall points in sports. Our students showed incredible participation and achieved strong results across tennis, netball, football, cricket, and more. Many teams competed at Regional and State levels, and individual athletes shone in swimming, athletics, and cross-country. We also had external successes, including an under-19 Australian cricket team member and an AFL draftee! Looking ahead to 2025, we are excited to continue offering a challenging and rewarding sports program that promotes health, physical education, and fun. Through teamwork and fair play, students develop important skills and grow as athletes. We are committed to sportsmanship, where respect, fair play, and good manners guide our actions. Letโ€™s celebrate our athletes and continue growing participation across all levels. A reminder: Students must sign up for sports through SIMON. Please ensure they wear the official sports uniform with pride, and remember the hat policy in Terms 1 & 4 for Sunsmart! Day 2 of the Year 12 Retreat! ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿ„โ€โ™‚๏ธ T Day 2 of the Year 12 Retreat! ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿ„โ€โ™‚๏ธ The day was packed with fun games, more surfing, and heartwarming road-of-life story-sharing. It was great to see the connections grow and the bonds strengthen. The students have been fabulous and are a true credit to our college community. We wrapped up with a beautiful binding ritual, sealing new friendships and strengthening old ones. Itโ€™s been incredible to watch these young people walk this journey together.
